CKYO - The Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras is one of the oldest, independently chartered youth orchestras in the United States with a rich, continuous tradition dating back to 1947.  Over 250 students gather from seventeen cities and sixty area schools to participate in CKYO.  We offer three orchestras; Symphony, Concert and Preparatory Orchestras and chamber ensembles.  Dedicated to the musical education and growth of its student members we provide performance opportunities, motivational workshops, small group instruction, travel, mentoring and quality social interaction.

MENC - The National Association for Music Education is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all.  Music allows us to celebrate and preserve our cultural heritages, and also to explore the realms of expression, imagination, and creation resulting in new knowledge.  Therefore, every individual should be guaranteed the opportunity to learn music and to share in musical experiences.

The Violin Society Of America - The Violin Society Of America reflects a broad range of interests and concerns of those interested in violins and the art of making instruments and bows of the violin family.  Founded in 1974, the Violin Society of America is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of promoting the art and science of making, repairing and preserving stringed musical instruments and their bows.  Membership in the VSA is open to all who share an interest in the violin, viola, cello, bass and their bows, and thus reflects a broad and diverse range of interests and concerns, including the history of instruments and performers, technique, performance practice, repertory and other matters pertaining to instruments of the violin family.

The American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers - Founded in 1980 to provide the musical community with a standard of work and expertise upon which it could depend.  Now numbering over one hundred of the finest makers, dealers, and restorers in the United States and Canada, the Federation has strict requirements for membership.  Aside from submitting an example of his or her work for review, a prospective member must have at least nine years of experience in the profession -- including six years of formal apprenticeship and training in all aspects of the making, repair, and restoration of fine instruments and bows.
