The
Parent-Student Contract Students
receive a Gifted and Talented Service Plan once a year and a monitoring report
once each semester. Progress reports
are sent home at the end of each six-week grading period. The
Academy curriculum includes requirements beyond those necessary for high school
graduation. The chart below outlines these requirements:
Students are expected to meet all of the expectations
identified in the course syllabus and/or course requirements from all enrolled
classes. These may include, but are not limited to, due dates, homework
assignments, late work, and projects. All completed and submitted work must be original
student work, cheating will not be tolerated. Students shall maintain satisfactory progress as
defined by the continuing eligibility section of the Academy charter.
A student not meeting the continuing eligibility standards will be placed
on probation until the end of the next grading period.
School representatives will review evaluative data and services.
The principal of a magnet special program may recommend a student be
returned to the non-magnet program in his/her assigned school the next school
year if he/she fails to maintain satisfactory progress. Magnet special program require a one-year commitment
form each student. If any student
wishes to leave the magnet special program mid-year, principals, school
director(s), and the associate director of gifted and talented confer regarding
the best interest of the student. The
school director(s) shall make the final decisionPlease complete the form below
