Liberal Arts Academy Junior Seminar

Preparing for Beyond

 

Junior Seminar meets every Tuesday and Thursday in Lassiter Theatre from 7:30-8:20AM.

After successful completion of the Junior Seminar students earn .50 advanced credit each semester. 

All Academy Juniors will earn advanced Arts and Humanities credit through the Junior Seminar course during the 2008-2009 school year.  After the successful completion of the Arts and Humanities component each student will earn .50 advanced credit for each semester.

Fall semester seminar activities revolve around college admission testing preparation, including practice ACT, SAT, and PSAT examinations.

Spring semester seminar activities are focused on identifying and refining a senior academic mentoring project. 

PSAT 

Testing Information

The PSAT is the qualifying examination for National Merit Scholarships and the exam is required to apply for the Governors Scholars Program. 

The 2009 PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 14 and Saturday, October 17.  Please contact the HCHS Counseling Office of additional information.  All Juniors need to take the PSAT!! PSAT registration will be September 16 and 17 outside of the counseling office during lunch.
