MUSIC CRITIQUE
DIRECTIONS:
Before going to the performance….
read through the Evaluation Rubric and become thoroughly aware of what
constitutes a "Superior", "Excellent", and "Good" performance in each musical
element category (Tone, Pitch/Harmony, Dynamics, Style, Rhythm, Technique).
Before
the performance begins…. select one specific selection to review.
During
the performance…. circle the areas on the
Evaluation Rubric that you
feel best describes the quality of the performance in each category.
After
the performance…. Review your rubric check offs and write a paragraph that
best describes your observation for each category on the Evaluation Form.
Include
these sheets as the cover letter for your critique. Staple a copy of the
Concert Program and the Evaluation Form to this paper and turn in for
teacher evaluation and credit.
